Standford University Graduate settling in Aix en Provence

Jacques Souquet Ph.D. of Sandford University has founded the company Supersonic Imagine in Aix en Provence along with another prestigious Scientist Armen Sarvazyan, Ph.D., D.Sc., Chief Scientist and Founder of Artann Laboratories, and Adjunct Professor at the Surgery Department of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

London born Dr. Jeffrey Colin Bamber who gained a PhD Biophysics in 1980 from the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London has joined the Scientific board of Supersonic Imagine and is now working in Aix en Provence.

SuperSonic Imagine's founders are experts in the fields of ultrasound technology and medical imaging from both industry and academia.

The scientists of Supersonic Imagine are working on a new device to diagnose and treat cancer in the breast, the prostate gland, the thyroid and the liver.

Overall venture capital fund-raising in Europe is more than twice the levels of 2002. In France, the number of new businesses set up last year rose 4 percent, to 233,052, over 2005, according to the Agency for the Creation of Businesses.
